For this week's assignment of creating an experimental sound file from field recordings, I thought our deep listening exercise. What was helpful during that activity, was to try and map the direction sounds traveled and proximity to where I was. So for this assignment I set out to design my ambient sound file by going to various parts of the same area in attempts to get similar audio tracks with variance in what elements in space stick out as the main source of sound. I recorded in prospect park, and was aiming for my track to show a transition from a space deeper into the park into the street. I was recording on my bike, and wanted to capture the feeling of the pace and environment change. I layered traffic sounds on top of the base moving recording, and tried to use reverb to create a wind like effect.
